About the Founder

I did not come to this work through medicine, science, or academia. I came to it because the person I love has cancer, and suddenly I was trying to understand a world I had never expected to enter. I was reading late at night, following unfamiliar terms from one paper to another, trying to work out what was meaningful, what was preliminary, what was commercially exaggerated, and what might actually be worth discussing with a doctor. The information was there, but it was scattered, technical, inconsistent, and often written for people who already knew how to navigate it. Over time, the research stopped being a collection of notes and became a system: compounds, pathways, evidence tiers, pharmacokinetics, safety, formulation, and the limits of what could honestly be claimed. Mechanica Natura grew from that process.

I am not presenting myself as an expert, and I do not want anyone to mistake this site for medical advice. I am simply someone who had to learn because the stakes were personal. What I do believe is that the work of finding, reading, organising, checking, and translating this information should not have to be repeated from the beginning by every patient, partner, carer, or family member who finds themselves asking the same questions. If the research I have already done can help someone understand the landscape more clearly, feel slightly less lost in it, ask better questions, and have better-informed conversations with the professionals responsible for their care, then it is worth sharing.
